SURTA1500XL makes loud pop when powered on. Visible blue flash from inside unit when pop occurs. Fault and bypass LEDs come on, and powers attached load. SN QS1135133197. Unit was purchased in 2011. What options do I have to address this?

Last night I hooked up a laptop to view the logs. Wouldn't you know when I powered it up it worked fine. Went through its self test and passed. Keeping an eye on it but this seems to have resolved itself.

I am not quite sure what is causing it but these have a two year warranty on them and I don't see an extended warranty attached to this serial number. We don't offer repair on these models through APC directly. APC support would likely tell you about the Trade-UPS program and maybe getting credit towards a new UPS. Another option is seeing if our authorized service partner, CoastTec, would be able to repair this model. Otherwise, any repairs or taking apart of the unit would be at your own risk.
