Smart-UPS RT 6000 RM XL - in bypass in response to an internal hardware fault

We have a rack-mounted UPS, model number :

APC | UPS Network Management Card 2

Model:	Smart-UPS RT 6000 RM XL
Position:	RACK
Serial Number:	IS1131001323
Firmware Revision:	452.18.W
Manufacture Date:	07/26/11

We receive the following alarms, as viewed from the browser:
Inverter Fault
In Bypass: Hardware Fault

and the battery bar graph display a particular pattern:

    Bypass LED is amber
    Fault LED is red

Do I need to replace the Battery?

Mostafa,

The inverter is an internal component of the UPS that is non-user replaceable.  I highly recommend calling in to local support for assistance or running the "braindead" procedure (this procedure can be found in other forum posts).  If a braindead does not clear the fault, the UPS would need to be replaced as the inverter is critical to UPS function.
