I heard a beeping coming from our IT Closet and saw this red error on the front panel.
So I had my manager tell me to plug in a console db9 into it and see if any diagnostic errors come up. That's when I learned you need a proprietary serial cable and I killed the network for 10 minutes waiting for it to reboot.
So at least this cleared the error warning,
The meter on the right has gone up to 4 lights since this picture.
So what are our options? We have a Network card in it but I believe it would need to be configured hence my managers original request to console in.
Lastly should the unit have switched over to street power in this event?

Hi Will,
That error message just means that it is time to replace the battery in the unit. When you accidentally turned off the unit it seemed to have cleared the error which is not uncommon. I would expect that the same error will return within the next few weeks when it runs another self test so I would plan on replacing them in the near future. Our batteries last about 3-5 years and have a 2 year factory warranty if bought directly though APC.
