SUA3000RM2U Continuous Beep

I have this UPS that I am pretty sure has never been used and setting in a box in my storage for the last 4 years. When connected to power it is one continuous beep, per the manual indicating a fault(fault light is on too). Also the battery fail light comes on. I still get the fault with the battery module unplugged.

What I would like to know will the failed battery produce the fault like this or is it something else. I know most ups's will fault on bad or no battery. I just need to know if this is likely what the issue is before i spend money to purchase new batteries.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Actually i just found some new batteries and installed them. No more battery light but i still get a continous beep, the unit seems to otherwise work. No wiring faults..

Good day Joe,

A flashing replace battery indicator means that the internal battery is not connected or the UPS fails to detect the battery. Is there any pattern with the beep? Are there any LED's lit on the UPS?

Hi Joe

If the unit is chirping and the Replace Battery Indicator is flashing and the unit is chirping, it means that the battery is not connected, it could be because the battery is discharged or the unit itself is not seeing the batteries you have installed. If the unit emits a constant tone and but all the LEDs in the front of the unit seem to be normal and the unit still has that constant tone, it may indicated an internal failure. I suggest that you get in touch with technical support at 1 800 800 4272.
I hope this helps
