Hey Guys,
Randomly had all the lights start flashing on the front of my SUA2200XL. Hooked up my Powerview to find that it's an internal temperature fault. I changed the batteries, no help. I used my HyperTerninal interface to calibrate the unit and lower the float voltage. I also checked the internal temp using the interface and it's showing 026. Not exactly a high temperature.
I've dead-headed the unit and I can't do anything to get the unit to come back on. I've unplugged the temp probe from inside the unit and still no luck.
Any thoughts? The unit is barely out of warranty. Go figure.

It's safe as long as you know what you're doing. If you were told how to do it correctly and were given the correct info to enter, then it is.

First of all, I wanted to point out that we do not recommend customers adjust the values you changed(calibrated the unit/changed float voltage). The reason I point that out is because we don't troubleshoot at this level so I can't speak for the results you received or even confirm what you did was safe to do. We also don't normally hook up powerviews to these units however I have seen them work to some extent. These units are pretty basic as far as troubleshooting. We do recommend "brain deading" which I believe is what you were referring to but that is the only troubleshooting we can recommend. We can only recommend the company we use for refurbing our UPS' to potentially fix this issue as we don't troubleshoot at the component level but they may be able to fix the issue for you. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply.
It's too bad there isn't much troubleshooting beyond this point. I also have a SURT1000 that is just out of warranty that has the same issue. It's frustrating when this happens. I have some VERY old units that are still in service with just battery changes. Seems like the newer unit have more and more issues.
Also, I got my information on changing the calibration settings via HyperTerminal from APC tech support when I called in. I'd hope it would be safe.
