SUA1500 shows incorrect runtime

We have about 800+ SUA1500 devices out in the field supporting each individual branch. We just replaced the battery in one of our SUA1500 devices and typically after a self test and calibration the runtimes return via the management card between 20 to 40 minutes runtime average (depends on actual load). Certain times we need to actually reset the management card for the correct runtime to be displayed.

I have a unit that no matter what we do the runtime returns to 8 minutes; even though when we run the calibration tests it will stay on battery power for 50+ minutes. What could be causing this and what can I do? I was thinking it might just be the card and was considering re-configuring a new one to send out to be replaced but if anyone has any other suggestions or if my idea is way off I really need your help.

Thank you,
Tom

this problem is not related to the network management card. the network management card only reports what the UPS is providing it.

it sounds like you may need to do "adjust the constants."

i will PM the procedure to you if you can confirm that you can do the following:

1.) remove the NMC from the UPS
2.) obtain the APC specific serial cable - 940-0024 or 940-1524
3.) get a computer with serial port and terminal program working to interface with the UPS
4.) be comfortable using the terminal program to do this procedure - an incorrect step can possibly damage the UPS.

let me know and then I'll PM you the procedure.

I can have a tech go onsite and do all of the steps you mentioned so if you could please send me the procedrues via PM that would be great! I have a few test units as well I can use to ensure the steps can be followed properly.

Thanks as I really appreciate the help
