SUA1500 DOES NOT START ON PRESSING "TEST" AFTER NEW BATTERY INSERTION

I HAVE AN SUA1500, Ser No. AS0337120535, OLD BATT No. FF030802 (EMBOSSED ON PLASTIC TOP), AND NEW BATT No. 3A0945X05001 (AN RBC7), PURCHASED FROM APC THROUGH STAPLES.COM. PRIOR TO BATTERY CHANGE, THE SYSTEM CLEARLY INDICATED "REPLACE BATTERY" (AND PRIOR TO THAT WOULD "CLICK ON BATTERY AND OFF BATTERY" VERY QUICKLY WHEN A LASER PRINTER WAS SWITCHED "ON" AND WOULD CONTINUE DOING SO WHILE THE LASER PRINTER WAS "ON" ATTACHED TO THE SAME POWER CIRCUIT BUT NOT SERVED BY THE SUA1500; TOTAL LOAD ON THAT CIRCUIT IS ABOUT 12 AMPS WITH A 15 AMP BREAKER).
AFTER INSERTION OF NEW BATTERY, THE SYSTEM WAS CHARGED ("PLUGGED IN" BUT NOT "ON" FOR OVERNIGHT; SEPARATE CIRCUIT) AND THEN TESTED USING THE "TEST" BUTTON. (A) ON PRESSING THE "TEST" BUTTON, ALL SIX "ACTION" LIGHTS AND ALL FIVE GREEN "LOAD" AND ALL FIVE GREEN "BATTERY CHARGE" LIGHTS FLASH "ON" FOR ABOUT 1 SECOND, THERE IS A SINGLE "BEEP" AND A "CLICK", AND THEN THERE IS NOTHING. (B) PRESSING "OFF" RESULTS IN A "BEEP" AND A "CLICK". THE CYCLE CAN BE REPEATED, SUCCESSIVELY. SUCCESSIVE CYCLES CHANGE NOTHING. IF THE "TEST" BUTTON IS PRESSED WHEN THE BATTERY IS NOT CONNECTED, THEN PRESSING THE "TEST" BUTTON RESULTS IN "(A)", PRECEDING, BUT PRESSING "OFF" DOES NOT RESULT IN "(B)", FOR NOTHING HAPPENS.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Gary,

Please make sure that there is normal AC utility power to the outlet that you are plugging the UPS into. And Check the circuit breaker located on the rear of the UPS or near the input cord. Please make sure that it is not tripped. Once pushed back in, try to power the unit up again. Attempt to start the Smart UPS product off it’s battery by cold starting it. There are 2 ways different ways to do this. First try to turn it on while it’s unplugged from the wall. If the Led does not come on then Hold the on power button in until you here a long beep and let it got before the beep finishes (usually about 4 seconds). When the unit is started off its battery it will indicate it is using its battery to power the unit. If the UPS works on battery, plug it’s power cord into the wall.

In case If these steps do not work, then I would have to recommend repairing or replacing the unit. If you would like to consider having this UPS repaired, you would need to contact an APC Authorized Repair Center for service costs. The company name is CBM and their telephone number is 888-2FIX-UPS (888-234-9877). I recommend you to return the battery for refund if you decide to replace the unit. APC does offer a discount on brand new units with two-year warranty when you trade in your old unit. Click here to know more about the Trade UPS program.
