I believe it should work. Make sure you just replaced the battery then follow the below instructions. One common thing to check for is any smart-slot accessory like an interface expander (two serial ports) or a network management card in the UPS. Make sure you remove any smart-slot accessory.
1. Verify the UPS is a 3rd generation Smart-UPS (see other side for model name description).
2. Stop any connected Powerchute software from running and disconnect any serial cable from the UPS.
3. Remove any Smart-slot accessory. If there is no accessory, proceed to step 4. In order to remove an accessory from the Smart-slot:
a) First power down any load connected to the UPS, then power off the UPS by pressing the front panel off (o) button.
b) Unplug the UPS from the wall.
c) Next, push and hold the front panel off button for approximately 4 seconds (listen for a faint clicking sound in the UPS).
d) Now remove the accessory from the Smart-slot.
e) Plug the UPS back into a live utility outlet.
4. Make sure UPS is on, if not push the front panel on (I/Test) button and wait for the completion of the auto self-test routine.
5. Connect the calibration key to the UPS communication port (DB9 connector on UPS rear panel).
6. Monitor the LEDs on the front of the UPS. If, after a few seconds, all LEDs flash and the UPS beeps, the recalibration was a success.
7. If the red LED of the calibration key lights, there was a failure. In case of failure, re-verify that steps 1 through 5 above were followed correctly.
