Hi,
two of our NMC2 ping our Gateway by itself, please see the picture attached.
10.10.1.212 and 10.10.1.213 are NMC2
10.10.0.1 is the Gateway
Question: What setting in the NMC2 triggers these automated pings? All other NMC2 do this not.
Thanks

Hi Marc,
Any new cards that come from the factory with Fw6.8.x or newer won't do this as SNMP is disabled by default, you can also disable it via the WebGUI.

Hi, found the answer myself after comparing the Config-Files from affected and unaffected NMC2s.
The only difference (beside the MAC, IP, Names...) are the TrapReceiver5Community=public
and TrapReceiver6Community=public
entries.
The affected (generating automated pings to the gateway) NMC2 have the following conf lines in the [NetworkSNMP] block:
TrapReceiver5Community=public
TrapReceiver6Community=public
Unaffected NMC2 have this entry in the [NetworkSNMP] block:
TrapReceiver5Community=""
TrapReceiver6Community=""
I copied the whole [NetworkSNMP] block from an unaffected NMC2 to a new config-file (ini) and imported this file (with only the [NetworkSNMP] block) in the affected NMC2. After this and rebooting the NMC2, no pings are generated anymore.
Regards
