SU2200RM3U Freaking Out
I have a SU2200RM3u rackmount UPS. Have had it for many years. Recently it went off, and caused the breaker to flip. Not a good sign.
I removed the existing batteries, which were old, but not 'dead' and put in brand new batteries, for which I also tested in an identical working spare unit. Confirmed batteries good, and wiring perfect.
WITH POWER UNPLUGGED: When I turn the unit ON, every single light on the front panel lights up, and it goes into 100% "alarm" or "squealing" mode. Pressing any button has no effect except holding down the power button will allow me to turn it off... and turning it back on caused it to go back to "all lights on, squeal" mode.
WITH POWER PLUGGED IN: Same thing, did not flip breaker (although I'm betting if I left it in long enough, it probably could), and did it's "all lights on, squealing alarm" thing.
Ideas? Do I need to send it into a tech to repair somewhere?

From the looks of it, it appears that your unit has encountered a fault. You can try to turn off the UPS and unplug it from the power source and then press and hold the off button until you hear a click from the unit. Start it back up, if the same thing occurs the UPS would need to be replaced.
The unit might be out of warranty already and if you want to have it fixed, you can contact our authorize repair center [Coastal Business Machines|http://www.cbmi.com/].
