SU1400RM2U beeps every 3 secs when plugged in and replace battery LED flashes amber. I read the repair manual and it states:
?Replace battery light flashes, battery charge bar graph is off, and the UPS beeps continuously.
• Battery not connected properly. Check that the battery connector is fully engaged.
I reconnected the battery several times, but no change. Do the batteries need to be replaced or is this a different problem?
Thanks
Lance

how old are the batteries in the UPS?
this indicator basically means that the UPS is unable to detect the batteries being connected to it. this can be caused by what you already checked, which are the phyiscal battery connections, or by the voltage in the batteries being too low where the UPS cannot see any voltage present.
i'd recommend checking the voltage on the batteries if you can. if they are new batteries (an APC RBC), we may need to proceed further in determining if there is a internal fault with the UPS causing it to report that it doesnt see the batteries anymore.

Thanks for the response, not sure the exact age on the batteries...probably 3 years. I'll check the voltage and report back.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
