SU 2200 - all LEDs blinking

I have just acquired an unused SmartUPS2200RM2U. It was in storage for a while and is unused, so I suspect the batteries are defunct. However, when I plug in the batteries, there's a bit of a spark at the blue plug and socket, so there's probably some charge there. When I power on the unit, it comes on and then there is a click and all six of the indicator lights (online, overload, AVR trim and boost etc.) flash. This is not documented in the manual and I haven't seen reference to it. Before I go and buy new batteries, I thought I'd check here and see if anyone else had encountered this.

This is a 240V UPS

If the 6 center leds are blinking, that would indicate a AVR relay weld, the ups must be serviced to have the relay replaced. If the unit is out of warranty you can have Coastal Business Machines (http://www.cbmi.com), do the repair. if you know what you are doing you, you may find and replace the faulty relay yourself.
