SMX750i - "No UPS found" after firmware upgrade

So after having multiple alarms over the last few months of "on battery power due to distorted input" and tried to adjust sensitivity settings with no success... this time tried to update the ups firmware (10.1). Update was a success but when I log in to the NMC (AP9631) is says "no UPS found". Anyone know what the problem could be?

I tried swapping the NMC (AP 9630) from my other UPS (smt750) to the SMX750i but still no ups found. I think the problem lies on the SMX ups itself. Anything to reset on the UPS so it can establish comms with the NMC?

Thanks.

Might be flogging a dead horse but - if your UPS has a dot matrix LCD display on the front panel and is also the five push button type have you tried telling it to reset all settings to factory defaults using the front panel buttons?

Does UPS control work on the LCD display?

If not, try using the Firmware Upgrade Wizard:

I updated using the Firmware Upgrade Wizard (4.1.1) using USB as APC says its the recommended procedure. So powered down all connected loads and removed the NMC from the SmartSlot. Finished upgrading the firmware and dialog box says its success but something odd like corrupt data shows on the dialog box.

And windows was trying to detect the UPS with a multiple series of connect-disconnect USB sounds.

So anyway proceed to restart the ups and plug-in NMC but says "No UPS found". Did the brain dead procedure and still nothing.

I have also tried to reload the firmware using USB again but this time my computer cannot detect the USB port, tried serial port still nothing.

I emailed tech support so will wait what they say.

Yes still under warranty. They are sending a replacement unit.

So based from this experience should I probably try and update the replacement through the NMC or still use USB? thoughts?
