My old SMX3000 suddenly quit working. I powered it off, removed the batteries, moved the UPS gently downstairs, reinstalled the batteries and plugged it into the mains supply and nothing. Nada. Zippo. Bupkiss! Not even a breath of an attempt to restart. I tried different known good RBC116/117s with no joy. Tried different outlets with the same result. There is no EPO plug installed nor has there ever been.
I popped the side off to do a quick visual maybe to spot a burned component or possible a small internal fuse but found nothing.
Before I discard it, does anyone have a possible suggestion on where to look for obvious things I overlooked? I was surprised to find the manual made no mention at all of the two white circuit breakers on the back near the outlet group as a possible fault but found nothing about them. I suspect they are used to prevent an output overload as they don't seem to be wired into the imput circuitry.
Thank in advance for any suggestions!

Is this the same unit you were trying to upgrade the firmware?!? 🤔

Yes, it is the same unit but the upgrade the firmware was never accomplished because the wizard would not allow the upgrade attempt. As you mentioned, there was nothing after ID10 v2.0 that I could find.
I did scrap the unit and obtained another SMX3000RMLV2UNC from an auction site that was a later build and was at f/w rev level ID1003 v7.6 that I successfully ungraded to v15.0. The later hardware revision level is much better in that the LCD display can, thankfully, be turned off and the fans only run as necessary. I also purchased an SMX120RMBP2U from the same vendor so I should be set.
Thanks for your assistance in this.

What is the battery voltage of the RBC117 cartridge? What is the input line voltage at the NEMA L5-30P outlet as measured by a True RMS DMM?
Assuming there is 120 VAC at the outlet when you connect the power cord and the RBC117 is connected. Do you see the battery voltage increase?!?
Do you measure any voltage at the outputs?
Does the system have a NMC if so what happens on the unit when it’s connected to a switch / network when the system is connected to AC Mains?

Each of my three RBC117s were right around 135.4 vdc. My line voltage is around 124 vac as measured with t Fluke 87v true rms dmm.
No the voltage did not increase.
No voltage at the outputs.
NMC2 remained dead, no activity lights, when plugged into the line.

What is the float voltage in this new to you system as displayed on the LCD and measured by your Fluke DMM?!?
As an aside this ridiculous (APC Moderation) of holding comments before releasing them. Makes a conversation and trouble shooting 9999999 times harder than it has to be! 🤦♂️👎
Reading, replies that were posted days ago with ones that are hours later just confuses the entire thread! 🤢👎
