Smart-UPS SMX2200HV with XLBP SMX120BP ext batt pack, both new at the start of the year. We intermittently get an alarm "Batt Temp Sensor", and then Status - Battery Temp has the field empty ie "--°C". Alarm clears by itself after some hours, and the actual Batt Temp is displayed again. The UPS is in 22°C air conditioning. Sometimes it happens near daily, beeping away; other times there is a fortnight or more between occurences.
I did a Forum etc search. Internal battery is definitely connected eg unplug external batt, and the displayed runtime halves.
Im concerned habituation to this alarm will delay response to another alarm. ~Thanks, Chris

It is probably a faulty sensor, in my smt unit it is just a cheap thermistor in the battery bay, it may have been hit replacing batteries. I doubt you will get a genuine part but I expect it will be a 10 or 50ohm sensor and not that difficult to splice in unless you get a matching plug.

Yes, you're in order saying its the battery sensor.
Still check the sensor its possible the sensor is blinded by dust. Just do a physical check on the sensor and confirm what the actual fault is.
