As a replacement for an SUA1500, I am considering an SMX1500RM2U rather than an SMT1500, but am concerned about the fan noise, or lack thereof. I would appreciate advice from anyone with SMX1500RM2U experience.

If I decide to go with an SMT1500, how can I know which fan control configuration I am purchasing? By serial number? Would this even be an issue if I upgraded through Trade-UPS from APC stock?
