I have an SMT750 circa 2010, I changed the batteries this year and now I'm getting the "Connect Battery" error. I get power to the plugs but only on AC, I took out the battery and I read 26V @14 Amps. I've fiddled with connectors to rule that out, I also took some contact cleaner to the battery connect at the back of the unit. I also tried a self test, but it won't perform one due to the battery error. Is there something I can do or do I pitch the unit?
Phil

Hi Phil -
You may want to double check the quick disconnect cap on the back of the unit to ensure that it is fully seated. has the UPS been physically moved recently? Typically when a battery suddenly starts reporting "disconnected" it indicates a failed battery where the voltage has collapsed. In your case the voltage at the battery appears fine, so that should rule that out as a cause.
