SMT3000C Change Input Connection from 30a to 15a
The SMT3000C input cable runs a NEMA L5-30P 30a 120v input plug.
Problem is, I don't happen to have a 30a circuit readily available. But I heard it was possible to change the input connection & cabling from the 10 gauge cable / L5-30 plug to something like a 12-14 gauge cable / 15a NEMA 5-15p plug.
I'm actually seeing SMT3000 units being sold on eBay with 120v 5-15p power input plugs on them so I have to believe the change over cant be rocket science.
Would anyone with experience with this know if besides swapping out the cable & plug end, are there any internal switching changes that need to be made so the current draw is limited to the smaller size input circuit??
