Can anyone send me the direct link to the latest firmware download for SMT2200RM2U w/ AP9630. I tried multiple downloads from the APC software download to no avail using apc firmware upgrade utility v2.20. After guessing what firmware is correct, I've flashed it twice with the wrong versions and I login to AP9630 it tells ne NO UPS found. Any help would ne great.

Angela,
Thanks for the info. What do I need to extract and install. It doesn't look like I can use apc firmware upgrade utility v2.20?

Hi Mark
The link Angela provided is a self extracting installer for the NMC firmware.
To update the UPS firmware you can use the newer firmware wizard in this link
Regards
Matt

As Matt shared, if you want to upgrade the AP9630 itself, you use the file I shared with you. Instructions on applying that and how to use it are here: http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156047
If the latest firmware is applied, which you can verify in the AP9630 under About->Network menu (should read 'aos' 6.6.4 and 'sumx' (Smart-UPS) application module 6.6.4), then you may have a different problem where correct firmware is applied for your UPS type but AP9630 still can't "see" or "talk to" the SMT UPS.
Once you confirm the firmware I shared is applied, let us know if there is still a problem. A screenshot of the About->Network section would be helpful too from the AP9630 if you're not sure what you're seeing or what firmware is loaded.
Lastly, as Matt also shared, if there is confusion here and you're trying to upgrade the UPS device itself (separate from AP9630 Network Management Card), then you can use the FAQ he shared to do that. The AP9630 and UPS use separate firmware images and separate tools to update them.

Matt,
Thanks for the link.
Looks like this wizard is for serial firmware update. I not sure which serial cable to use with my AP9630. I can see on the back of the AP9640 it has a mini headphone port to serial.
APC doesn't have a network firmware update tool for the AP9630?

Hi Mark - please refer to my previous post after Matt's. You need the file I originally provided to you and you can apply it over the network (FTP) or use the .bin files contained within it for other methods (serial/XMODEM, Secure Copy- SCP).

Angela,
Thanks for your patience. I think I get it now. The AP9630 has it's own firmware and firmware update utility. I guess I did get the AP9630 updated correctly, as my first post asked. Attached is a screen shot of the "about-Network". Please verify. Second attachment is the AP9630 "home" screen, where is states "No UPS Found".
I'm assuming that I don't have the latest firmware on the SMT2200RM2U because the AP9630 does not see the UPS. Is that correct?

Hi Mark,
No problem. Thanks for the screenshots as these were helpful in diagnosing the issue. What I am seeing is that you have 'sy' firmware module loaded which is for Symmetra model UPSs and you have a Smart-UPS product. We need to re-upgrade the firmware using the file I shared to you.
The UPS should not need to be upgraded to establish communication with the AP9630 so you can manage it through there. But, just like for the AP9630, the UPS team provides periodic UPS firmware updates for their products with new features, enhancements, bug fixes, etc. You can choose to upgrade it if you wanted. You can see the UPS firmware under About->UPS menu (share a screenshot if you need me to check the rev and if it is out of date). As the UPS often requires a full power down of the outlets to apply its upgrade (depending on the model) and is more of a pain to do over USB or serial, you may just choose to just leave this alone until you have a reason to upgrade. An UPS upgrade is NOT usually required unless you are experiencing a specific issue or would like to take advantage of a new feature they provide.
Long story short, let's upgrade AP9630 a second time to apply the right application file for Smart-UPS products and it should fix the issue here.
Please use the file I sent at this link (https://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/download/download.cfm?sw_sku=SFSUMX664&software_id=MFOI-B5NN2Y&famil...) which the file name you need to make sure you download and apply (in case you download what I am sharing to a folder with other APC firmware files) is apc_hw05_aos664_sumx664_bootmon108.exe and it will extract three files: apc_hw05_aos_664.bin, apc_hw05_sumx_664.bin and apc_hw05_bootmon_108.bin. (Note, if you choose a manual method to upgrade, you really just need to make sure you apply the AOS file, then the sumx file.

Angela,
I was originally trying to setup email notification on my AP9630 and was having no luck. My email test kept failing on "Test e-mail failed; SMTP configuration error", so I decided to upgrade the firmware to see if that fix my issue. Which it did not fix. Still getting the same error. I've tried port 25 and 465.
I know my network is connecting to smtp.gmail.com. A DNS test comes back. See pic. Plus I have a NAS that is setup with the same SMTP setup and it works.
I've attached pics of my setup.
Thanks

Hi Mark,
I successfully use Gmail with port 587 and then the other settings you have there - smtp.gmail.com, my email as the "From" address. I do believe also I've had to configure "Allow less secure apps" in the security options of my Gmail account (when not using 2 factor authentication).
If your Gmail account uses 2-factor authentication, then you won't have "Allow less secure apps" option in your account settings and you rather have to use "app passwords" option in Gmail's security settings. You basically use a specific password and your email address as the login for this specific device to use 2 factor authentication through this type of client.
I just re-tried on 6.6.4 to be sure it worked right this second and it did.
Hope this helps.
