SMT2200 Lower Outlets Turn off During tests

Hello,

On the back of my SMT2200, whenever a test runs or the unit goes on battery, the lower outlets turn off. The unit doesn't have any special markings that indicate one set or other outlets are not battery-backed which makes me think something is setup wrong, perhaps in the Outlet configurations?

The upper row is fine. Anything plugged into runs on battery until power is restored or the battery consumes its charge.

The UPS does not have a network module. Instead, we use USB to the server hardware which runs Windows Server 2012. On there, we have the various PowerChute Business software services installed and can adjust and manage things from there.

Unfortunately, I'm remote (COVID), so any work on-site can happen but slowly. So if I need to get more information I will.

Thanks all!

Hi,

That is strange. A SMT2200 has 2 outlet groups. A main and a switched. The switched is Group1. The main cannot be powered off until the switch has been powered down. Open the PowerChute interface and go to Shutdown - Outlet Control. From there you can power on and power off the outlet groups remotely. You will see that the unswitched cannot be powered off until the switched has been powered off i.e. the drop down menu will be grayed out.

I'm wondering if the problem is actually a bad battery. Well, I say "bad," but it's more accurate to say "old." The unit was installed in 2013 and we've never changed the battery. Is it possible that there is a battery problem and the web page and the unit itself doesn't see it?

Thanks for your response!!
