I had the unfortunate (self-inflicted) experience of installing my new unit, getting the setup wizard screen and then unintentionally hitting the arrow key changing the value away from the default English (which I want) to something entirely unintelligible and having that value get accepted.
I looked into your forums and found that I should be able to perform a logical reset by:
1. Turning the unit off via front panel display
2. Unplugging the unit
3. Unplugging the battery
My first problem, of course, is that I can't read the front panel, so turning the unit off is problematic.
Any suggestions for overcoming this situation?
Thanks in advance for the help,

I have the RJ45-RJ45 serial cable that comes with the unit, but I'm not aware of a means to utilize it on my newer management laptop.
I installed the PowerChute Serial Shutdown software on the laptop and got to the administrative web interface but despite going through the menu (after the initial setup was complete), I saw no option to reset the UPS back to factory defaults.
I watched the video but found my unit is slightly different and so the button presses didn't exactly line up. The good news is that by hunting around, I was finally able to recognize the language setting screen and get the setting back to English.
Problem solved - thank you!
One follow-up question -- is it the case that the factory default reset is not available via PowerChute Serial Shutdown or did I just miss it?
Thanks again

Those options and more are available through the CLI (Command Line Interface) while using third party software like Putty. If the above information helped please do mark this thread as solved so it may assist others in the future.

If you have the serial cable you can restore the UPS to factory default. If not watch this video as to how. Keep in mind it doesn’t matter if the language is different. You’re only concerned by knowing how many and which buttons to press to get to the option needed.
Some words are going to the same regardless of language chosen!
