Hi,
I have an SMT-1000 and an NMC-2 on revision 6.6.4 that I can't get the NMC initiated self-test to complete properly. Under the "UPS Tests" screen there is an entry describing the Result as "In Progress", the Source as "Refused" and the Cause as "management device". There are no entries in the event log that indicate the test was started or why it failed. Conducting the same test on other UPSs with NMC-2s on the same firmware work as expected.
Any idea what might be going on? Thank you!

Hi Liam and thanks for responding. The UPS is on firmware version 7.1 (ID17), the current load is 31.2% output watts and 20.8% output VA. The self test does not run from the front panel. Serial number is AS1126120121 and the date of mfr is indicated as 06/20/2011.
Thanks for your thoughts.
(Update: 12/06/18. I previously noted something odd in the UPS status page of the web interface. The "next battery replacement date" field contained a date in the year 2046. That led me to think that something in the firmware was corrupted so I decided to reflash the firmware. Now both the NMC and the front panel invoked self tests work so I guess I'll leave it at that.)
One more question Liam and it is about the "next battery replacement date? Changing the battery installation date does not appear to move the "next batt rep date". Can you tell me what are the parameters that will cause this field to indicate the replacement date correctly?
Thank you!

Hi Joe -
Does the self test complete if initiated from the LCD screen of the UPS? What firmware is the UPS running? How much load is attached?
