SMC1500i is silent most of the time. SMC2000i is silent too?

I have SMC1500i which is great, because the fan is almost always turned off without any fan noise, especially when the power input condition is good and the power load is not high and it is just work as bypassing the power as green energy mode.

I noticed that not all models are like that.. For instance, we have the online UPS SRV2KI, even when I set it to the green energy mode to work as line interactive, still the fan is working on the low rpm mode. It seems the fan should always working and only it has 2 rpm settings. So I would never expect silent fan mode with this model.

Now, I want to purchase SMC2000i to replace SRV2KI because I want a quiet UPS near bed room. I wonder whether it is like SMC1500i, where the fan has a turn off mode too when the power condition is good in green energy mode?

And why it is difficult to find SMC2000i in Malaysia? Is this model newly released?

The fan in an SMC2000i would cycle in a similar fashion to your SMC1500i. It is a higher output fan, so when it is on it would likely be a little louder than the 1500.
