Hi there,
I've just received a new unit under an RMA (thanks APC!) but I noticed something odd. I'm running a Synology DS212+ as a small SMB server hooked up behind it. I've also attached my workstation to the SMC1500I.
However, when I power down my PC the load is "0 watt, 0%" on the LCD of the SMC1500I which is kind of odd considering the fact that the Synology is still running. When I briefly turn my monitor on and off again I can see the LCD display of the SMC1500I briefly give me "36 watts" (which is the figure I expect) after the monitor is off again before the unit settles back on "0 watt, 0%".
Is that normal? Does the SMC1500I have some minimum current requirements before it shows up on the LCD?
Kind regards,
Rob.

Anything under 10% may not show. The UPS group focuses on making sure that the higher the load, the better the accuracy as to make sure the user does not overload the UPS. This tends to be true no matter what type of APC device.
