Good Morning,
We installed this unit a couple of weeks ago, and unfortunetly emailing logs was missed during the intial config. Now that we have the taken care of we are getting informational messages:
Date : 09/07/2017
Time : 13:52:50
Code : 0x0101
Informational - UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.
---------------------------------------------------------
Date : 09/07/2017
Time : 13:52:50
Code : 0x0185
Informational - UPS: The power for switched outlet group 1, Outlet Group 1, is on.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Date : 09/07/2017
Time : 13:52:50
Code : 0x0185
Informational - UPS: The power for switched outlet group 2, Outlet Group 2, is on.

Any thoughts, i can send screen shots with come guidance.
Thank You
MIke

I will work on getting the tar file.
Regarding the events i did check and those emails are from the same unit.
The time issue was due to a improper time config. I changed the NTP server and time zone. Which is why the logs are off.

Hi Mike,
Can you extract the full event.txt log from your SRT? I think for SRT you probably have a newer Network Management Card firmware so if you can extract the .tar file mentioned, that is ideal. Instructions on doing log downloads are outlined here via a few different methods (depending on firmware)-> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156131
It will be helpful to see the full event log because I have a feeling there is more to what is causing the messages you've posted so far.

Hi Mike,
Here is what I see.
1.) You're at firmware 6.4.0. This is a few years old now. I don't think it is necessarily causing the problem I'll explain below but you may want to consider upgrading for bug fixes and enhancements, especially for the SRT UPS type you have.
2.) In the log, we have the below blurb. I'll paste the series of the events here and then explain what is occurring. This happens a few times in recent days:
09/06/2017 07:37:21 Device UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication. 0x0101 09/06/2017 07:37:14 Device Environment: Restored the local network management interface-to-integrated Environmental Monitor (Universal I/O at Port 1) communication. 0x0344 09/06/2017 07:37:11 System Network service started. IPv6 address FE80::2C0:B7FF:FEDD:9451 assigned by link-local autoconfiguration. 0x0007 09/06/2017 07:37:09 System Network service started. System IP is 10.10.1.19 from manually configured settings. 0x0007 09/06/2017 07:37:05 System Network Interface restarted.
So, time wise, read events from bottom to top. Your SRT's embedded Network Management Card (NMC) is restarting its interface. We'll need to find out why that is and to do so, I need the full .tar file OR the individual debug.txt and dump.txt files. These files aid in telling us why the network interface restarted. There is an FAQ here (http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156063) that talks a little bit about why we know the NMC reboots - sometimes it is expected, like after a major configuration change. Other times it is not expected or obvious and can be related to a failsafe mechanism. I see in your log there is no clear reason, hence the need for debug.txt and dump.txt. Depending on what I see in these files, I may suggest a firmware upgrade to monitor performance.
Back to the events and what they mean. The NMC network interface reboots (soft reboot), and then the rest of the events are normal status update messages that occur after a restart. Network service starts for IPv4 and IPv6 protocols. Then the environmental Universal I/O port initializes and establishes comm (if a temperature sensor or similar is connected). And then the NMC establishes communication with the UPS itself.
I do NOT see the following event types in the log file you pasted in your original message at the given time.. is it possible it is from a different UPS? The time is also 1300 hours for Sept 7th but your event log does not go that far ahead that yet into the afternoon?
Date : 09/07/2017
Time : 13:52:50
Code : 0x0185
Informational - UPS: The power for switched outlet group 1, Outlet Group 1, is on

Without seeing them in the log, these are other status messages that can occur after the UPS and its outlet groups turn on for one reason or another. In older firmwares, they used to show after a network interface soft restart like we are discussing here but it was misleading because people thought the outlet groups/UPS turned off when really it was just being reported as a current status message, like those others that I explained. Thus, I thought we had resolved that.
Timing aside, I do see outlet group on/off messages earlier in May, June, and August where your UPS was turning on and off and having power issues seemingly so those do seem normal and expected at those times.
Hope this helps!
