I have two questions:
-We have bought smart UPS SC1500I, connect the equipment(ibm x3650 server) and let it charge for a week. After that i tried testing by disconnecting main input current cable that comes into UPS and the whole equipment shot down. When i measured the output voltage it shows 167V.I called the company where i ordered the UPS and the told me that the way it should be more important is effective power which is 220V when they checked it with their instrument.
I'm wondering why the server shuts down(its not overloaded, one cpu and two disks in mirror) is it proper tho show 167V ??
-Is there a way to shutdown vmware host machines using this UPS(i've heard there are some scripts). This UPS doesn't have network managment card

I use UPS SC1500I and when I plug in power supply 220VAC in input, its output is 230VAC, it is okey but when plug out the power supply and run on batteries of UPS, the output is 160VAC, I don't know why because I install and setting up following manual and i have bought it recent time. Pls help me how to solve if you know any thing about this wrong. Thanks.

Hello Goran,
I would like to inform you first that I am from APC North American Group and have not worked with International units but I'd like to share what could potentially cause this problem. For the software, computers that runs VMWares / HyperV needs to install/purchase the paid versions of PowerChute Network Shutdown and their UPS should be equipped with a Network Management Card. PowerChute Business Edition which is the software that comes with this unit will not run on these kinds of machines and the UPS is not equipped with a Smart Slot where you can insert the network management card.
Regarding your problem about the server shutting down when the UPS runs on battery, would it be possible for you to provide if your PC (IBM X3650 Servers) requires a pure sinewave? Smart-UPS SC units outputs stepped approximated sinewave which some servers/ power supplies does not like which causes the unexpected shutdown of computers. Although the UPS can support the VA requirement if your machine does not like this kind of sinewave, it wouldn't recognize the power that our UPS provides. Regarding the voltage reading, can you tell me what prongs did you used to get that measurement?
For proper sizing of your UPS, I recommend contacting the APC Customer Care Center for your region.
