What i am trying to accomplish is connecting my sc 1500 battery backup power supply to my CAD workstation so I can monitor the backup's status. If im not mistaken i can also monitor my computers power consumption and the units interface will give me an estimated run time on its battery backup?
I have connected the unit to the workstation via the serial to usb connection.
I have installed the the power chute business edition server and the business edition agent on the workstation that is physically being powered by and that which i want to monitor the backup from.
I went through the setup but when i try to add my PC to the device list configuration the application fails to apply the configuration to the workstation. i may be way off base or doing things in the wrong order so my appologies in advance.

Good day!
You may try installing the Serial to USB driver. If it doesn't work still, try uninstalling the "Agent" and then reinstall (with the driver installed).

so i should go to the "agent web interface" from my start menu? I login and the system status summary shows that device communications is not established. The usb cable is connected from my workstation to the UPS's serial port via the supplied cable. how do i go about establishing communications with the UPS?
