We are having a generator installed and going to have to flip the current circuit over to the auto transfer switch. Luckily we also have to get another outlet ran to the transfer switch. Im hearing conflicting reports if I can pull the plug of a UPS and put it into another outlet without my servers losing power. Can it be done?

if the servers are plugged into a UPS, and it has adequate runtime, it should run on battery and not drop the load.
