Residential Sewage Pump needs battery backup

Back in 2014, my plumber replaced a sewage sump pump in my basement, after old one overflowed.

Two days ago, we had big storms and power went out for 12 hours. We did not use anything in basement to fill sump, but somehow it overflowed again because it lacked power to discharge.

Plumber says he installed a Zoeller pump MW266-c; which Zoeller can't seem to find a tech sheet for.

https://www.zoellerpumps.com/en-us/products/sewage-pumps/residential/260-series

and when I explored, I found a tech sheet for a similar model, but not a match.

https://www.zoellerpumps.com/content/literature/fm1311_009132.pdf

I am ignorant on how to buy the right APC product that would "survive" the power draw that the pump will require in order to cycle.

I started here:

thinking the Pro 700 might do the trick; but then I also considered the possibility of daisy-chaining a few lower priced options; heck I just don't know.  Any advice appreciated!  Steve@Freisco.com would be great!

Might I suggest to webmaster / forum admin that you include an "email me when responses are made to my post" function.  That would be tremendous.

Hi,

Most motors have a different draw when first starting than when running. I suggest you put a meter on the pump to determine the amps when first starting and once running. If the pump plugs into an outlet you could measure it with a kill-a-watt meter. If it is hardwired, you could use a clamp meter.

Once you know the draw the next step is to determine the length of time the pump runs per cycle and how many cycles you would like the UPS to support. When you know all of that I suggest you look at a Smart-UPS. A Smart-UPS will provide a cleaner sine wave when running on battery. You can also purchase a Smart-UPS that offers extended run when extra battery packs are added.
