Replacement selection for SUA1500R2X93

Hello all, 

my customer avails a number of old/legacy consoles. Each console is hosting a Sparc SunBlade 2500 Red running Solaris 9 and a rackmounted 2U APC SMART-UPS (model SUA1500R2X93). The UPS is able to power-off/on the Sparc workstation via a serial RS232 DB9 cable.
According to APC the UPS replacement model is the SMT1500RMX93, but i am not sure if the new one can communicate correctly via serial cable with the old Sparc SunBlade workstation (even with the usage of the AP9620 legacy communication port). Note that i cannot change anything on workstation side.
Any ideas?

You have several choices available which are upgrade to SMT / SMX Series UPS. Both systems come with a DB9 RS-232 to RJ50 proprietary serial cable.

Simply connect the DB9 RS-232 to the server and the RJ50 Ethernet to that dedicated port.

Both systems also have USB to communicate over serial connection so PCSS can be used.

Lastly, if so equipped with a AP9640 / 41 NMC a graceful shutdown can also be initiated by the NMC via PCNS.

NOTE: Only one serial port may be used at one time! ☝️
