Remotely power on & power off
We are building a local area network with remote power management. Managing the power of the entire network is done from one workstation. Question: Is it possible to perform a complete shutdown and power on of all network elements (PC, switch ...) using APC solutions (by integrating management of network interface cards into our software, by ssh or http ...)
Regards,
Alex

Hi,
How you would remotely power off and on will depend on the UPS and the NMC firmware.
Below is an SSH connection to Symmetra LX with a AP9631 running firmware 6.8 Under the UPS menu I can turn off / on the UPS.
This would be the same for a Symmetra 40K

If the Smart-UPS have outlet groups the menu is slightly different. You are provided the option to power off / on the UPS and also trun off / on outlet groups.

Hi Alex,
It really depends on how your going to set your network out, how many UPSs you'll have, what types, where will the workstations be powered from, etc.
What I can say is that our most of our UPSs and our switched PDUs can be controlled via web, SNMP or SSH.

So, questions is can I call by ssh power on on ups (SmartUPS or Symetra) from full off to state when PC is working?
Or is network management card powered from battery so I can manage UPS even he is full off (not sleep or stand by)?
