Rack doors and Electro Magnetic Radiation
HI,
I was discussing the need to have rack doors on racks that are in an secured space with a work friend. The conversation came around to electro magnetic radiation and one view was that you must have doors to "eliminate or contain" electromagnetic radiation within in the rack. I am a littel skeptical on this.
My question is. In current model rack servers from the major vendors, is there a risk real of EMF escaping the rack and affecting other equipment in a data centre. My view is that in a secured space where doors are not required, there are advantages in air flow by taking the front doors off.
