Rack Mounted APC SMART UPS 1500
Im a n00b. trying to get into networking and ccna stuff thanks to network chuck. Bought all of my equipment used off of facebook marketplace. I picked up this smart ups 1500 for $300.00 and i got excited with these switches. I plugged a cable in on the back ( i think it was a console port) and directly into a usb3 port on my pc thinking thats how you got into the thing. Now all of my battery lights are flashing. Tried unplugging and resetting but the lights returned. What did i cook?
Also trying to log into Powerchute Network Shutdown and my apc has a network card in it but i cannot connect to it...someone help

Provide clear photos of the front and back of the unit. Next some basics to understand about any APC UPS / Other.
RTFM . . . ☝️
Doing so will provide you a basic understanding of the system, operational use, setup, and configuration options.
Depending upon the specific model Smart-UPS there are no less than 2-4 I/O serial ports to communicate with the system.
There can only be (1) Serial connection at any given time besides a network connection. Both USB-B & RJ50 Ports are serial connections.
You must use the supplied proprietary wired RS-232 / DB9 Serial cable or one you’ve made and validated as working to connect to this RJ50 port!
Using a standard serial cable will cause the unit to shut down or behave erratically.
If you have a (C) model there may be a green coloured RJ45 Ethernet port. This port can only be used to connect to APC Smart Connect cloud portal subscription service.
There is no local access or control through this port!
As it relates to the NMC (Network Management Card) I’m not clear what you’re saying or having a problem with?!?
You can’t access the NMC internal website?!? You can’t figure out how to configure PCNS?!?
