RADIUS attribute documentaion
We have 8xxx serries APC pdus which will soon all be running 6.3.3. (current firmware release).
Are the required and supported radius attributes the the server should read and return documented somewhere? I was not able to find it by searching. We do not use AD which I assume its mostly tested against. We use FreeRADIUS on linux with an OpenLDAP server. If I know what te pdus are sending and what they expect, I can configure our RADIUS server to comply. In the past I have gotten radius authentication to work but at some point (maybe when we upgraded to 5.1.6?) it stopped working. It would help to know what the server should be returning instead of having to sleuth it from watching the packets. I expect that there might be new capabilities in the 6.x firmware since it supports new user types/roles.

Hi Bob,
Take a look here (http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP8841&tab=documentation) and refer to the "Security Handbook v6.X.X" link at the bottom of the "manuals and warranties" group and see if it has what you need. FYI, I just used AP8841 as an example product SKU in the previous link but no matter what model of AP8XXX PDU you have, the Security Handbook/guide is the same.
Here are some other RADIUS resources in the knowledge base (http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/😞
- http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA156083
- http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA232648 (This is specific to a variety of FreeRADIUS, maybe yours is similar or the same)
Hope that helps get you started in the right direction.
