Questions about SMT1500IC

Hello,

I am interested in SMT1500IC with SmarConnect (Spain)cloud capabilities to protect my remote astronomical observatory. For me, the remote management through the local router could be interesting.

I have this questions if you can help me...

- to power on/off remote devices: the devices connected in group 1 must be managed together or separately ?

- SmartConnect capabilities on this new IC version in Europe could do that or I need to buy Ap9630 card ? 

I have a IP relay box already but sometimes mine hangs. I would like to use SMT1500IC to reset the power of the relaybox without access to my local computer.

Hi,

SmartConnect is designed to communicate with the Schneider Electric Cloud to allow you to monitor the Smart-UPS and provides notifications. SmartConnect is not designed as a management tool. If you would like to configure the UPS remotely and command outlet groups on and off you will need to install a network management card. The AP9630 allows for monitoring and management of the UPS via the local network.

To power on/off the outlet groups you will connect to the NMC. The NMC allow the ability to turn on/off just group 1 or if command the main then all outlets are turned on/off. The groups have delays and those setting are also configure through the NMC.

As an example: if you connect the IP relay to group 1 and the local computer to the main you could power cycle group 1 to get it back on line.  This would not affect the main so the local computer will remain up.

OK, perfect. I will add AP9630 NMC in my cart, I have already bought SMT-1500IC.

PS: Maybe SmartConnect capabilities was unnecessary because redundant with AP9630
