Hi All,
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this question:
I'm trying to understand if the APC Smart-UPS range of UPS's, specifically the APC Smart-UPS C 1500VA has the ability to remotely communicate with e.g. ESXi to prompt a safe shutdown if the power fails for X amount of minutes?omegle xender
I understand there is an add in card for some units, but the one mention about has USB and Network (sometimes serial) connectivity.. is it possible to leverage any of these ports for sending these remote messages? I can't find anything conclusive online.
Thanks in advance.

Hi CairoKolton,
It used to be possible to shutdown one licensed ESXi server with the serial port using the VMware vMA, VMware have however pulled support for the vMA so this is no longer an option.
I recommend you add an NMC2 or NMC3 to the UPS's SmartSlot so that you can use PowerChute Network Shutdown.
