Have a question needing explination. Have a customer that specifically says " upon sensing loss of line power, to initiate shutdown of a Sigma industrial PC, then the ups shuts itself down to conserve battery as line power may be unplugged overnight. Upon sensing line power restored, it should power itself back on and be a a normal/ready state."Communication with the pc should be usb." Really no runtime needed. for pc and monitor. Is this what powerchute can do with a smart-ups? Thanks for any advice.

yes, Smart UPS do that inconjunction with Powerchute Business Edition via USB or serial, so as long as Powerchute Business Edition is supported by the operating system on this system, it will work fine. You can configure the UPS to turn off after "x" minutes on battery, etc.
check this link for operating system compatibility for PCBE version 8.0.1: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z5QEV_R9_EN.pdf

thanks for the reply. One more thing. Can you set it up to where the ups comes on or goes off at a specific time? For example, tell the ups to turn on at 9:00am? Thanks.
