I have been trying to use the Ini FIle Utility to push out standard Alert configurations to similar units throughout my company. I thought I had it nailed down. I fully configured one NMC, downloaded the Ini file, modifed it with the appropriate device-specific information and then used the Ini File Utility to upload the Ini into the other device.
The problem is that Alert settings that should be set on the unit it's uploaded to are now unset.
For example, if I set the Minimum Temperature Threshhold on Unit 1 to Alert by e-mail with a repeat every hour. Then I download that Ini, set it to the info for Unit 2 and upload it, while the settings for the Alert are set, the Alert itself is not enabled.
I even tested setting the same setting on Unit 1 and Unit 2, downloading the Ini from Unit 1, modifying it and uploading to Unit 2 and the Alert that was set on Unit 2 is now unset even though it is set on Unit 1.
If I configure the NMC on Unit 1, download the Ini and then upload the Ini *unmodified* back to Unit 1, I have no issues. I even tried configuring the NMC on Unit 1, downloading it and *not* modifying it (since the Override keyword should keep the firmware from overwriting unique values like IP and MAC), then uploading it to Unit 2 and had the same problem.
I hope everyone is following this so far.
It basically boils down to this, I cannot modify an Ini file and then upload it and have it work successfully setting the Alerts settings.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Makowski

Angela, Thank you.
If not "good" news, at least it confirms my experience and identifies the problem.
I appreciate the response.
Thanks,
Jim Makowski

You're welcome. I am continuing to drive the speed of the fix (sooner rather than later) but I can't promise anything yet
