I have compared the working config with the nonworking config and there is nothing that differs, except the new thing added, language and such.

So i'am guessing its something with how the UPS communicates with the mailserver.

To better assist you, can you tell us what is the UPS and Network Management you're using?
While we're waiting, I suggest that you look over this APC Knowledgebase Article - [How do I troubleshoot email failures on the Network Management Card?|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7957/kw/nmc%20email]. This should give you troubleshooting techniques with regards to e-mail failures on an NMC.

also, it might help to send us the (3) available files from the NMC which will include the firmware version.
