Merci.

It’s not clear to me from your post if the UPS / Battery cartridge is new? If we assume it’s new then just let the unit recharge the battery. Once the battery is fully charged initiate a self test. If the self test fails the battery needs to be replaced.
If the self test passes then the next step is to complete a battery calibration. There must be at least 30% load connected to the UPS. Depending upon what accessories you have (NMC / Power Chute) this test can be started through software. If you don’t have either just unplug the UPS from AC Mains outlet while 30% load is connected.
Let the unit drain and shut off by itself - Than turn the unit back on and let the UPS recharge the battery and the battery level indicator should be correct.
NOTE: If you start the battery calibration using software there isn’t a need to unplug the UPS from the wall. If you aren’t using software (Power Chute / NMC Web Page) then you obviously need to unplug the UPS to complete the test. Once complete apply power by inserting the plug and turn the UPS back on.
Battery Calibration: This procedure is very tough on the cells and also reduces the service life of the battery. So only perform this procedure once a year to gauge the relative performance of the battery cartridge. Insure you time how long it takes for the unit to turn off and document the same! As this will give a reference as to the (Run Time) the battery provides now. You can then compare that to the APC Runtime Chart (based on load) to see if it’s the same, better, worse, poor.
If the chart says you should see 45 minutes based on 150 watts. But you only see 10 it’s time to replace the battery cartridge. If the runtime is 35-40 minutes vs 45 than simply set aside (budget) finances to replace the cartridge at some later date.
