I have downloaded PCPEInstaller.exe (personal version 3). Doubler clicking on this gives me PCPESetup.exe on my 'user' folder. Double-clicking on this gets a message 'This program is blocked by Group Policy' Consult your administrator. This is the Personal Version and I am the Administrator. I ran the Setup.exe file with Administrator privileges.
How do i proceed please?

Hi,
You can configure Windows Power Options in the control panel to shutdown the OS when the UPS goes on battery without installing any software or there is APCUPSD.

Hi,
You must have set some security policy's on the system for the message to appear. Try running pcpesetup.exe from a command prompt and when launching the command prompt launch it as a administrator. If running from a command prompt as an administrator does not work you may need to disable any spy/malware apps and virus protection that are running. I run malware bytes and Windows defender on my home systems and do not experience any issue with PowerChute but it is possible the app will block software from being installed depending on the settings.

Hi,
Many thanks for replying so quickly. I opened a command prompt with admin privileges and then typed the path to the PCPEsetup.exe file. Nothing doing. As I use Win 7 64-bit, I downloaded DOSBOX, mounted the C:\ drive and tried again. No dice here either. The setup.exe file was not recognised as a valid command. Going back to the PCPESetup.exe file again in Explorer, I clicked on this and now get a different message - 'the Program can't start because ResourceReader.dll is missing. Try re-installing.' I've tried this already.
I also have Malwarebytes and Superantispyware as well as ESET NOD32. I think it very unlikely these are interfering and I am unwilling to muck about. I had a comprehensive crash recently and have just installed over 75 separate programs; I have not had any problems. This program is the only one to have an issue.
Should I just give up or is there another program which works by simple downloading and running? This isn't a big deal after all! It's only a basic backup device.
