Hi,
I'd like to have more information how to configure PCNS with 2 UPS connected to 2 Esxi hosts.
I chose the Advanced UPS configuration because 1 UPS is connected to 1 Esxi host in 2 sites.
The hosts are in the same cluster, Datacore is installed as HCI.
I used VM priorization to migrate the vms if 1 site is down.
Yesterday i did a shutdown test in one site to ceck the configuration.
I had the following message
"Unable to find a suitable host to migrate vms from host"
I don't understand why i received the same message for the 2 hosts while just one site was with the UPS in battery.
I closed the shutdown test by enabling the electricity in the site where i did the test.
After 20 minutes all vms on the 2 sites were shut downed by Powerchute. (Datacore servers were not shut down, don't know why)
Can you help me to understand what was wrong ?
Thanks,

You should not use the Advanced UPS configuration. Install the PowerChute appliance on an ESXi host at each site. Configure PowerChute to migrate the VMs. Within PowerChute you are given the option of migrating to any available host, or to specify a host, or hosts. Each PowerChute appliance will listen to the UPS at its site. When the UPS switches to battery it will migrate to the available ESXi hosts if the host/s are compatible. It will the power off any remaining VMs, and then the host/s.
If the Datacore servers are not powered off, you may need to write an SSH script that PowerChute will run before or after the host/s have powered off. You can also write one the PowerChute will run after the host power on to bring the Datacore server back online.
