Powerchute Business Edition v9.0 Agent not working on Win 2008 Std R2 SP2

Hi,

I have installed the PCBE agentv9.0 on the Windows 2008 Standard R2 SP2. The service is not at all starting. When I tried with the Lower version, PCBE - agent v7.0 the service is started, but the error message as unknown Operating System. But the servie has been started.

I would like to know whether PCBE v9.0 is compatible with Win 2008 Std R2 SP2?

I have uninstalled the APC-PCBE completely as per the given procedure and reinstalled. It is absolutely working fine.

In my server SEP 11 Antivirus client has been installed. Do you want me to uninstall AV. Try to start the service?

i am not sure what would cause this to be honest..does the service start as an administrator? i assume so since 7.0.5 works?

Hi,

The service start up is set to Local System Account. I have changed to Local Administrator and checked? The service is not getting started. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the agent. Still the same problem persists. Here I have attached the screen shot.

Also in the compatibilty chart it is mentioned

Windows 2008 R2 Standard
Windows 2008 Standard SP2

But I'm using the Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP2. which was not present in the compatibilty chart.

Please help.

hm ok. i asked around cause i have never seen it before.

can you let me know what other services you have installed on the system that are running? hyper-v, IIS, etc

also, what model UPS is this connected to by the way and are you using a USB or serial cable?

I don't have any services like IIS or HyperV installed on my server.

The UPS is yet to connected to the server. I'm trying the application testing on the test server and checking the compatiability

hi anu,

are there any other security related programs installed or even antivirus that could potentially block registry keys from being removed and added during install/uninstall that may prevent this particular version from starting?

yeah if possible. or disable the program completely, do an uninstall, use the manual uninstall instructions that I will private message you then try reinstall to see if the service starts or if you can start it.

or you can just try what you suggested.

Hi can you help

I have installed the PCB v9 on r2 2008. The PCB agent fails to start. Any help is needed

When i try to manual start the PBC agent on the services It shows below message

" Windows could not start the APC PBE Agent on LOcal Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is non-microsoft service , contact the service vendor and refer to service specific error code 0

I have tried to do a manual uninstall by going to the APC directory and click on the uninstallagent.bat. delete the APC folder and do a reboot. Agfter reboot , reinstall once again and try to manual start the agent . But i failed this . SO when i click on the web agent login http://127.0.0.1:3052 it fails..

The OS is windows 2008 R2 64bit

Kindly help. I need to run command file . I heard version 8.01 installed on this OS is not able to as well

Hi JonPro,

could you please send me the manual removal instructions, too. I think, I have the same problem with the pbe agent:
version 9 installed on server2008r2, pbe agent fails to start. The pbe server starts without any problems.

I have another question. Perhabs is this my error?I have only one Server2008R2 connected to one apc powerchute. Is it necessary and possible that all parts of the software (agent, server and console) are installed on the windows server who is connected to the apc?
