Powerchute Business Edition running on a virtual Windows 2003 Server (ESX)
Hi.
I have a client with a new ESX box. they are only running two virtual servers on this box with 4 workstations.
I need to set up the APC Powerchute Business Edition software on one of the virtual servers so that if the power goes out, it can power down both servers.
I can build a script to shutdown the second server, but I cannot get the primary server to see the UPS. I have configured the ESX hardware to pass through the COM port the Smart-UPS 1000VA is connected to. But it will not see the UPS.
Are there any special tricks to setting up PBE on a virtual machine?
