Scenario: I have a laptop that is not plugged into the UPS, as that would be pointless, laptop has a 3+ hour run time on its own battery. However I am using the PowerChute software on the laptop to monitor the UPS as the items that are plugged into it are not "smart", switches, modem etc.
So I don't want the PowerChute software to handle the shutdown of the laptop, but I can't seem to find a setting to defeat the shutdown of the laptop.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi,
Sorry but PowerChute Personal Edition is designed to power down the system. You may be able to use APCUPSD to monitor the UPS and prevent a power down by editing the shut down script.
