PowerChute Network Shutdown for Netware HELP!

Tried installing PCNS for Netware; it went without a hitch but I can't seem to connect to the PCNS web interface from a PC.
I have similar installs on Windows servers and they seem to work fine.

Can anyone help troubleshoot?

Thanks in Advance,

Jeff

Thanks for the replies... unfortunately, I haven't had the time to update JVM on my Novell server... I am hoping to do it by the 14th of Sept. I will make sure to post my results after.

Thanks again.

If PowerChute was just installed, its likely that the process needs to be started. You can do this by rebooting the server (PowerChute adds itself to your autoexec.bat), or you can manually start/restart the process by following these steps:

To restart the PowerChute Network Shutdown daemon, follow these steps:

- Confirm the process ID for Java with this command
java -show

- Kill the Java process
java -killxxx (xxx is a process ID)

- Run APCpcns.ncf in the PowerChute directory.

I pasted this information from the install.htm file located here:
ftp://ftp.apcc.com/apc/public/software/windows/2k/pcns/221/

If you find that it is running, make sure you are specifying the correct port when you are trying to access the web interface. PowerChute runs on port 3052. The address in your browser's address bar would look something like this:

http://:3052

I agree that is the most common cause when you cannot access the web interface. If you are still experiencing problems after verifying the service is started, make sure there is no firewall blocking port 3052 on the Netware machine that would prevent it from being accessed from a remote machine.

I have killed and restarted the java process but still cannot access the web interface.
I will look at port 3052 and make sure it is not being blocked.

Thanks to all that replied.

Hello again.

I have not checked port 3052 yet but I thought I would write to tell you what I see after running APCpcns.

I get Java Interpreter 3453: com.apcc.m11.arch running with an error that states the following:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/net/NetworkInterface.

Does this give you guys a clue of what's going on?

Thanks.
