Power cord cable

Hi, I’ve just purchased an APC Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2U and it doesn’t come with a mains input power cable. I need a C13 to UK plug cable, but could someone please advise what rating and amp the cable should be. Thanks

The cable should be 15 amp / 240 VAC rated. All of the certified power cables will indicate 600 VAC on the outside which relates to the insulation of the sheathing.

Regardless of all the above the cable should be stranded copper and not CCA / Aluminum. It should use no less than 14 AWG diameter cable, 12 AWG would be even better though.

If the system is going to be installed in a damp environment or where there are harsh conditions. Than you must install the appropriate rated cable for both temperature and chemical / solvent rating.

Thanks for the detailed spec. Just to confirm, I’m looking for a UK power cable, plugged into a standard UK BS 1363 socket, I understand the plug itself is limited to 13A by design. The SMT 2200 and 3000 models came with a UK power cable as standard - for some reason the less powerful models don’t - do you know the specification of this or where I can purchase it? Thanks

The link I provided is just an example not a recommendation. You could purchase higher quality cables from Mouser, Fennel, DigiKey, etc.

If you’re handy just drop by any hardware store and purchase the cable, BS 1363, and order a C13 adapter from Amazon / Other.

I also find it odd APC would not include this power cable?!? 🤦‍♂️

You’ll need a 10A C13 to UK plug cable for safety.
