Windows 7, SP1, 64bit. Had PCP 2.2 installed and downloaded version 3. Install show "upgrade" which I selected and the install completed. When I tried to open PCP got a stopped working error. Uninstalled using the Windows uninstaller and reinstalled which completed without issue. Still get the stopped working error with the following details:

Problem signature:
How can I fix the problem?
What happened? I pasted in the problem signature but it doesn't show. Event name is CLR20r3.

Hi R2. I'm using a Back UPS ES550 and a standard USB cable to connect to the PC. I'm getting ready to upgrade my PC to a new Sandy Bridge setup (waiting for the UPS truck to arrive today) and decided to go with a new ES550 and relegate the current one to another computer. Checking APC site and that's when I noticed the new version of Power Chute Personal. The 2.2 version I had installed was working ok but figured I should update with new hardware. Don't know why pasting the error details into the post didn't work. I'll try again here: Pasting didn't work so I put it in manually:

Hi Redfoodog, what type of UPS are you connected to the win 7 box and what type of cable are you using as well (cable part number would be helpful here). A couple of quick things to check are 1 java (make sure it's up to date or download the latest version), 2 make sure no the APC software or services are running during the install of the software. Hope this helps.

there is another thread on this topic here. unfortunately, there may be many variables on each system that could lead to a conflict and cause the program to crash. not sure if you may just want to try 2.2 again.
