Hi. I'm in the process of building a new PC, and I need to get myself a Smart-UPS to go with it because I'll be using an Active PFC PSU. I've decided on the Smart-UPS 750VA SMT750I (500W should be fine for me).
My current PC is connected to a Back-UPS RS 800. I have my monitor, PC, and external HDD plugged into the battery backup sockets, and my Logitech z-5450 speakers (which I believe use a fair bit of power) plugged into a surge-only socket. I've no desire to run my speakers off battery backup, so this setup is perfect for me. However, when I look at the SMT750I, I see that it only has battery backup sockets, and none that are surge-only. I'm worried that if I plug everything, including my speakers, into battery backup sockets and the power fails, the UPS won't be able to provide enough juice to keep everything running.
So is there some way that I can connect my speakers to the SMT750I, but on a surge-only basis?
Thanks.
