Hi!
We have two Smart-UPS RT 3000 XL UPSs working in redundant mode.
Is it true that redundant setup need signal from both UPSs to activate event?
Is there any way to detect event on single UPS (eg. lost NMC connection)?
Thanks!

You can receive UPS malfunctioning e-mails from the NMC and or from monitoring software like StruxureWare. Example: UPS 1 goes on battery an e-mail is sent from the NMC. PowerChute Network Shutdowns job is to provide graceful shutdown of the OS. UPS monitoring should be done via the NMC.

PowerChute will log all evens. It will only react to critical events if they happen on both system or when 2 different critical events happen on the systems. So, if PCNS drops communications with 1 of the NMCs it will record the event. If PCNS drops communications with both NMCs the events will be logged and if you have configured it to do so PCNS will start an OS shut down.

Ok, it is clear now.
But we are using command file sending e-mail notification to user. In this case - without checking event log - it is impossible to get information about UPS malfunction until the second one fail too (and then, with different critical events, PCNS will start OS shutdown in few seconds...). Any solution for that?
